Gunite

GVLP Is One Of The Very Few Pool Builders In The Wayne, PA Area That Owns its Gunite Trucks and Processes For Themselves

This in House Gunite service means a lot to the client expecting to meet their swimming pool deadline! We never need to wait for the sub contractor as we do it all. GVLP offers their Gunite to other pool companies in the Wayne area that need to utilize this process. With that being said, GVLP is one of the very few POOL COMPANIES IN THIS REGION THAT DOES IT ALL FROM ENGINEERING, EXCAVATING TO THE FINAL STEPS OF POOL CONSTRUCTION. We do it all in house! In the mid 1950’s Shotcrete, wet mix concrete was introduced throughout the contracting industry. This first process proved to be embraced by general contractors nationwide. You will see Shotcrete widely used thru the 1970’s on numerous structures. This process was a method widely used where concrete was needed..
What is difference between Shokcrete and Gunite? Shotcrete method/process is the Cement Powder and Aggregate – They are mixed 100% with the water, creating Wet Mix Concrete. SHOTCRETE IS CONCRETE ! Swimming pool contractors have options when installing a new custom pool or remodeling. The most popular option in the last decade has been the Gunite swimming pool because it it can be created in just about any shape and is very durable. A Rebar Framework is used and Gunite sprayed over that with a concrete and sand mixture.

In the dry-mix process, the dry sand and cement mixture is blown through a hose using compressed air, with water being injected at the nozzle to hydrate the mixture, immediately before it is discharged onto the receiving surface. Gunite provides flexible strength which is seamless, facilitates no cold joints, and may been seen more often in earthquake prone areas for construction other than just swimming pools. Flexible Strength is one of the many reasons the top professional swimming pool companies like GVLP will recommend Gunite over Shotcrete. Even if that means they need to call GVLP to schedule their new custom swimming pool builds as most likely they don’t have the ability to do Gunite in house. Other pool contractors go to GVLP for their gunite services instead of Shotcrete due to it’s durability.
